Return to Next Island

Log entry Sunday June 17th 2018

Again, very little going on however after Space Skilling Saturday the Sleepyheads (well Phil and Nocturaline) helped me out by transporting myself and most of my stackable items to Next Island. As Space Skilling Saturday will be at Next Island next week it was the appropriate time.

I arrived to find no Crystal Centre, clearly I had missed something, I tried #nextisland and was informed by “Risen Ra Oh” that I had missed an update, it seems there are several new TPs and some old ones have been removed. He told me he had put some updates on the forum but checking nextisland.com I could not find anything, not even from an official. I am not sure which forum Ra was referring to.

It seems I will be busier next week, not only will I be in a position to begin crafting but I will have some exploring to do. Quite looking forward to it, I hope I can find some time.

It seems I am not the only one struggling with time, Neither Cals or Budski have been on line and Wolta’s only appearance was for Space Skilling Saturday.

Trading and manufacturing

Log entry for the 18th of October 2015

Monday, I’m on Arkadia and foolishly decide to try my luck, I seem to be particularly unfortunate on Arkadia and today’s Huon hunt was no exception as it gave a return marginally over 50%, with a loss of 235 PED, not good at all. I was planning to leave Arkadia temporarily anyway but due to this loss I was able to do so in disgust. I travelled to Crystal Palace and there amalgamated my loot before Teleporting to Chug’s Hideout on the surface. Here I purchased Lysterium and Piles of Garnets in order to complete the list of components required to tier the Igni up to 1. The upgrade process was painless.

Tuesday, I purchased Root Acid and Gazurdite ingots and proceeded to manufacture some RK-20s, quite a bad run, it produced only 8 units from 43 attempts. I also manufactured 76 PED of Welding Wire.

Thursday, I have decided to use the Dehera Immolation Sword and to this end repaired it. I then purchased an RK-5 BP and went to hunt the Rextelum, go figure! I did quite well with a loss of just 8 PED and reached 16650/30000 for The Supreme Rextelum Slayer mission. I purchased some Sweat and made more Welding Wire until I ran out of Alternative Ingots at which point I made 19 RK-5s from 56 attempts. I began placing my loots on Auction, such a ball ache.

Friday, I purchase extra Alternative and Ospra ingots and made a shed load more Welding Wire. Put more stuff on auction, some was bought.

Saturday, with the Igni upgraded to tier 1 I decided to make use of the slot and purchased a couple of weapon economy enhancers before trying my luck with the Rextelum. I used over 400 PED of ammo and both the newly purchased enhancers in order to discover that my luck was poor, in this instance economy enhancers were very not economic. I purchased the components necessary to upgrade my viceroy shin guards to tier 3.2 (clearly they were ready sometime ago). Later it was Space Skilling Saturday, after which Nocturaline and Myself descend to the surface of Arkadia where I purchase and repair a key 10 with the hope of the Sleepyheads doing this Sunday. That did not work out and we had to postpone until Monday.

This week I managed to lose about 550 PED and experienced a return of 66%.

Sleeping tigers

Log entry for 30th of August 2015

Monday, I’m on Crystal Palace. The soc. name change takes effect, we are now “Sleeping tigers”, this brings it almost full circle, when I first joined the soc. was called the “Guardian Tigers”, it changed once before I inherited it and quite a few times since, I thought Sleeping was apt partly because of the Sleepyheads (core crew of Pathfinder XXXI the Ghost Ship), partly because many of the original Tigers are sleeping.

Friday, Teleported to Calypso as I had much to do there, I purchased some sweat from Antzy in readiness for the manufacture of Welding Wire tomorrow.

Saturday, I spend the day restocking and placing auctions. I made quite a lot of Welding Wire. Then purchased tiers 1-6 of 3 different types of Weapon Enhancers, most of these were from The Weapon Enhancer shop, Emerald Lakes Mall, Floor 1, Shop 13. Next I tiered my Viceroy gloves to tier 2 after purchasing some of the necessary components. Lastly it was placing stuff on auction which took quite some time, I still don’t like having to return to Calypso to do this but the way the system is it is not practical to do anything else, the recent changes that enable you to have the goods transported to you for a price is just a way to regulate trade and make sure the main market remains on Calypso, keeping the other planets on the periphery. I’m convinced a free market where the mark-up value of all goods split by planet was available would create a much more even Universal Economy, encourage the transportation of goods between planets and give the newer worlds a chance to build their economy. If that was combined with each planet being able to set its own auction charges a much more lively Universe wide economy would evolve of its own accord.

Later it was Space Skilling Saturday, after which I went to Arkadia where I purchased a little more sweat, some of which was used to make a start on Mission Galactica.

Sunday, Nocturaline purchases a Key 7 and invites Wolta and myself to join here on this mission. As always this was a fun and intense session, once we had won our way through Wolta and I stood back to let Nocturaline open all the boxes. Thank you Nocturaline.

Weekly totals, a loss of 201 PED with a return of 70.24%

Level 54 Laser Pistoleer (Hit)

Monday, Wolta and I went a hunting Feffox, as is is always the case we had fun hunting together however on this occasion we had poor luck. Hopefully we will do better next week.

Tuesday, back to Boreas for me to hunt more drones, there are 3 Exterminators here now, there seems to be an extra one turning up each day, I have no chance against them so just avoid them while hunting. During this hunt I managed a small global and several good loots, more importantly I reached level 54 Laser Pistoleer (Hit) and am almost a whole 1% toward level 55. Very pleased. After I had finished I got the Marber Bravo-Type Plasma Annihilator out of storage and took a pot shot at the exterminator nearest the revive, I was going to try to turret it. I tagged it OK but was dead within a few paces, it did take it 2 shots but the 2nd one made a very through job of my demise. The hunt made a bit of a profit and clawed back some of yesterday’s loss.

After I purchased an RK-20 BP from auction, it had just 10 clicks on it and I used 9 of them to make 4 RK-20s, not a bad ratio, the last click will have to wait as I ran out of 1 of the ingredients necessary for construction.

Wednesday, another visit to the drones at Boreas, there are still 3 exterminators there, I think 1 of them is a new spawn, either that or the one I tried to remove yesterday has moved a long way. The drones were not so generous tonight but the skill gains still seemed good.

Thursday, once again I headed to Boreas to take on the drones, I did not do very well. The lag was bad and at one point a disconnect caused me to die and fail to claim the loot from a drone I had already killed. I think there were 4 exterminators there now, fortunately they are not very aggressive. I did manage a couple of skill gains, Level 41 Laser Sniper (Hit) and Level 46 Knifefighter (Dmg).

Afterwards I changed my percentage calculation formula, it is not possible to do this accurately as ammo is found in loots, so it’s not possible measure the amount used. I used to sell BP and weapon cells back to the TT, in future it will only be rounds of the type I’m using.

Saturday, in the morning I once again visited Boreas to take on the Drones, I think I can safely call this one a draw as I was up by 0.20 PED. There were no exterminators when I arrived but one did show up part way through the hunt. Kind of interested in what causes them to spawn. Later we had Space Skilling Saturday.

Sunday, I descended to Arkadia and promptly upgraded my Viceroy harness and thighs to tier 2.0 and 2.1 respectively, then purchased a few Defence Enhancer II to fill the slots on 4 parts of the set. I went to Underground to join in this weeks Smuggler event. This was interrupted by a call for a warp flight which Wolta and I answered. Upon our return to Arkadia Wolta and I hunted Oratan Miners and got a couple of Globals as Sleepyheads then I continued against the miners solo and got 2 more Globals.

Later I returned to underground with 1k of ammo and promptly lost nearly half of it, clearly this was a mistake on my part, I would have done much better to have left well alone and just taken the AUD profits, It was fun even though the Smugglers still do not autolock correctly.
