February 2018

Log entry for February 2018

On the 3rd after Space Skilling Saturday I took on the Kreltin for a mini hunt, nothing remarkable but there was a small profit. This was followed by the manufacturing of Welding Wire. More Welding Wire was manufactured on the 4th and 5th with some Rk-5s being made on the 5th as well.

Also on the 5th I tested myself against the Proteron Divine. I found if could get about one fifth of the way through it before being destroyed and by the time I got back it was so near to being completely healed there was little point in continuing. I did kill a few of the Cornundacaudas that also inhabit the area and managed a return of about 19%, I think that may be an all time low.

On the 10th another Kreltin mini hunt after Space Skilling Saturday this one providing a decent profit of 144%. This was followed by the manufacturing of RK-5s and RK-20s.

On the 11th TigeRPaw and I went to deal with the Proteron Divine, I was shooting and she healing, it took us a few attempts before we got this right and TigeRPaw very kindly lent me her “Ranked HK1750” and “Improved Omegaton A105” so that I could start shooting at a greater range than I could with my pistol, it did more damage per hit too but I’m not sure about per minute. The trick to doing this is not to kill the Cornundacaudas, they are faster than the Proteron and if you continually back away from the main target they will attack and get between you and the Proteron providing a buffer that keeps you out of its range. I managed a decent global and a return of 364%. I repaired TigeRPaw’s equipment before returning it and split the loot with her, I would not normally do that but then she would not normally lend her equipment. A great deal of trust was shown and it is much appreciated.

Latter on the 11th I went looking for an Outpost that no longer exists and had a go in the Crystal Cave, a small loss taken there. Later still TigeRPaw and I head into space, See Training TigeRPaw.

On the 15th I tried my luck in the Pit at Chug’s Hideout, using the Mission Galactica, Adjusted Restoration Chip, the chip made this much easier than it used to be. Next there was a solo warp to Arkadia where I found the Kamaldon Divine and let it hit to see how bad the damage was. After speaking with TigeRPaw I am provided with Way Points for all the Divine creatures. Then I spend a happy hour or so with my NIP hunting Halix.

The 16th. I test the Kamaldon Divine, solo. As this is just one TP 1 jump away from a revive I though it worth a shot, it did not work. I spend some time prowling the shops looking for what might help, I find 4 x Neurostim-C which give a decent health and regeneration boost. The after discussing with Wolta tactics we could use I purchase some Medical Tool Heal Enhancers levels III and IV, these allow me to fill all five slots in my EMT kit Ek-2900 and give it a heal capacity of 55 points 29 times a minute.

The EMT is given to Wolta who offers me here tier 7 Omegaton Igni L1100E to use instead of my tier 5 of the same weapon however she has no enhancers so I decline this most kind offer. We armour up and I equip an Aeglic and an Athenic ring, I find the Kamaldon Divine and provide a waypoint for Wolta, when we are both ready I take a Neurostim-C and begin. We managed to get it down to about a quarter of its full health before it gets me, I had just said “Easy :)” to Wolta when I am slain! I get back via TP ASAP and continue the attack, Wolta had also been slain by then but I was hoping she would arrive quickly, she did but not quick enough so we go again, this time she is waiting for me and we finish it off, a terrific loot of nearly 18PED in Shrapnel is the result, there is still a small profit!

Next Wolta and myself try the Oratan Miner camp nearby and then several others hoping they will re-spawn but they don’t. One of them was low enough level for me to do without armour quite easily. We also try a couple of Oratan camps, the first was far too hard and we both died several times just trying to take out one Oratan, the second was suitably easy after which I called it a day. It has been a little over two years since I have hunted with Wolta and it was good to do this again, just like old times. I need to be careful not to end up spending all my free time doing this again, judging by the rest of this log entry I fail.

The 17th to the 21st have small Oro hunts, I’ve been through the IFN Challenges and found the level 2 Oro is the one that should be easiest to finish. Some auction sales and the listing of some new items, I had bought some Arsonistic chips with me from Calypso, it is looking like I did not bring enough.

I have become quite concerned with how much weight I am carrying, when all I was doing was Space Skilling it made little difference, now I am hunting and still carrying about 30 RKs, I rationalised what I am carrying but it is still too much so I have purchased a “Lux Special Armor Luggage”, this was from Calypso auction and is waiting to be collected. For some fun I also purchased a “Sand Runner MK1 (C,L)” I intend to keep a different ground vehicle on each planet so I do not need to carry one with me. I soon find it’s turning circle is that of a small moon and that it often takes damage for no apparent reason, it is good fun though.

I offer to split the loot from the Kamaldon with Wolta but she declines.

The 22nd and 23rd, With the Oro mission complete I re-evaluate the IFN mission situation and complete the 1st Feran mission and finish the ammo off with some Halix I bumped into.

The 24th is Space Skilling Saturday after which I finish the level 1 IFN Gallard mission in the dark. For all these low level missions its the original Arkadia TT pistol a Herman Cap-R and no armour.

The 25th, I decide to become an Arkadian Citizen and pay the price in sweat after which I wander along the path I walked before, several years ago, almost no one would talk to me. I’m not quite sure how it happened but I managed to join the IFN and went through the running about missions (so glad I already had the TPs), I did the puny Oratan and the Arkadian Hornets, I am a private with the desert uniform which for some reason has one stripe.

I completed stage 1 of the Carabok mission and started doing the seven day Oratan Payback mission, not sure what that’s about but no doubt I will find out, probably in seven days.

The 26th, I purchase four of the new Herman CAP-TT (L) and test one of them in subsequent hunts, I have plans for them involving a disciple.

Day 2/7 of the Oratan Payback Mission, is easily accomplished. Halix to upgrade to the Blue jumpsuit (I do not currently have enough shrapnel to progress but it wont take long). Jori IFN mission 1, largely for something to do. The final chip on auction sells for the base price.

27th, more Jori, I got to 63/75. After that it was the Oratan Payback Mission day 3/7.

At this time I had enough Shrapnel to upgrade my colonists jumpsuit, I went as far as Gray before I did not have the materials to hand. After I had done it I realised it was 320PED TT value of stackables to get that far and I realised I had been a bit daft in doing it, that said there is only one more colour to get so I will probably be dafter still.

28th, Jori to finish level 1 then to 37/400 for level 2, Dromia to finish level 1, Oratan Payback mission 4/7 and a 1 PED, yes just 1 PED hunt of Halix, I did not want them to feel left out!

I think i am spending too much time doing this, I will cut back in March.

Trading and manufacturing

Log entry for the 18th of October 2015

Monday, I’m on Arkadia and foolishly decide to try my luck, I seem to be particularly unfortunate on Arkadia and today’s Huon hunt was no exception as it gave a return marginally over 50%, with a loss of 235 PED, not good at all. I was planning to leave Arkadia temporarily anyway but due to this loss I was able to do so in disgust. I travelled to Crystal Palace and there amalgamated my loot before Teleporting to Chug’s Hideout on the surface. Here I purchased Lysterium and Piles of Garnets in order to complete the list of components required to tier the Igni up to 1. The upgrade process was painless.

Tuesday, I purchased Root Acid and Gazurdite ingots and proceeded to manufacture some RK-20s, quite a bad run, it produced only 8 units from 43 attempts. I also manufactured 76 PED of Welding Wire.

Thursday, I have decided to use the Dehera Immolation Sword and to this end repaired it. I then purchased an RK-5 BP and went to hunt the Rextelum, go figure! I did quite well with a loss of just 8 PED and reached 16650/30000 for The Supreme Rextelum Slayer mission. I purchased some Sweat and made more Welding Wire until I ran out of Alternative Ingots at which point I made 19 RK-5s from 56 attempts. I began placing my loots on Auction, such a ball ache.

Friday, I purchase extra Alternative and Ospra ingots and made a shed load more Welding Wire. Put more stuff on auction, some was bought.

Saturday, with the Igni upgraded to tier 1 I decided to make use of the slot and purchased a couple of weapon economy enhancers before trying my luck with the Rextelum. I used over 400 PED of ammo and both the newly purchased enhancers in order to discover that my luck was poor, in this instance economy enhancers were very not economic. I purchased the components necessary to upgrade my viceroy shin guards to tier 3.2 (clearly they were ready sometime ago). Later it was Space Skilling Saturday, after which Nocturaline and Myself descend to the surface of Arkadia where I purchase and repair a key 10 with the hope of the Sleepyheads doing this Sunday. That did not work out and we had to postpone until Monday.

This week I managed to lose about 550 PED and experienced a return of 66%.

At Next Island (mostly)

Log Entry for June the 22nd 2014

It really has been a while since I have been to Next Island, it did not take long before I had the old feeling of liking it but not knowing what to do! I decide to fly about a bit and figure out where various mobs were, how tough they were and what they dropped so on Monday I tried Buccaneer Skeletons, Death Drakes, Chimera and Pirate Skeletons. The Skeletons are quite odd, for some reason they all kept their hats! I can understand that they no longer need to wear clothes, after all they do not need to keep warm and have no privates to cover, so why keep the hats? I can only think that they are ashamed of their new found baldness, pirates and buccaneers in life are portrayed as having lots of hair, the loss of which is obviously a cause for shame, so great a shame that they have to keep their hats. I did get a global from a pirate skeleton which failed to register on entropialife, as did 3 of the 5 I got during the week. I ended the day running some of the missions with Wolta, I could probably do some of them again, they have changed since I ran them. I do remember finding them quite good fun.

On Tuesday I just could not wait any longer, the Karma Killer had reached tier 4.9 last week and was ready for an upgrade to tier 5, I jumped into my quad, headed into the big black and set a course for Calypso, I made my approach z+ on Crystal Palace so as to avoid any entanglements and reached Calypso without issue, surface to surface the journey was a little over an hour. Everything I needed was on auction and none of had buy-outs that were much over the daily MU so I acquired what was needed and did the deed. I also got some tier V enhancers and stocked up some of the others that were running low. I’m currently using all damage enhancers but am thinking of testing some others, that can wait however.

I decided to try the newly upgraded Karma Killer and headed to Saba Camp and then east to play with the Rextelum, the pistol is more effective but the Rextelum took advantage of my generosity and I came away with very little by way of a return. On the upside I passed the half way mark of the Supreme Rextelum Slayer challenge.

Exiv was on-line, he had been wanting to join us for a week or so, so I offered him a ride back to NI, which he accepted, however after discussion it seems he would prefer to go to Arkadia where we could all meet at the weekend, it was late, too late for me to make it to NI and still get to bed at a reasonable time so we set course for Arkadia, Exiv went AFK and I chatted with a few people in Space Chat. About 2 AU out from Arkadia, Exiv logged out (it later transpired that he crashed), I changed course for the Space Station. A little latter he logged back in and after reviving found himself on Zeus. I had relayed this on Space Chat and very kindly Sally Sal Bridges offered to pick him up and take him to Arkadia, she was already en route and about 2 minutes short of Zeus. With that sorted I FL’d Sally found a quite corner below decks at Arkadia Space Station and curled up to sleep.

Wednesday, yes, it’s only Wednesday! Fortunately it was a relatively quite day. I had little time so I headed to the Arkadian Surface where I set to against some Oratan Miners, these were much more generous that the miserly Rextelum of yesterday, with a global and a near global. While I was hunting I had a chat with Sally Sal Bridges who had kindly accepted my Friend request of yesterday, it seem both she and Exiv had done quite well the previous night on Arkadia, with her getting a decent global and Exiv a small HoF. Seems we live rather close to each other too, well close in EU terms, probably less than 200 English miles. During the hunt I got 1/3 of the way through level 53 Laser Pistoleer (Hit), crawling along.

Thursday, time to return to Next island, I set off into the big black and headed straight for Next Island, I was about 30 seconds out of the safe zone when I realised I had not checked my stackables, rectifying this I discovered I was carrying all the loot from yesterday’s Oratan miner hunt and absolutely no ammo, genius! I turned around and headed back to Arkadia to put the stackables in storage and to get some ammo before continuing.

Approaching Next Island I decided to try some Cosmic Horrors and used the ammo I was carrying on them before I headed to the surface. With the loot in storage I got some more ammo and went fishing for some Island Sharks, managing a small global and very little else.

Friday, I entertained myself hunting Vulcan Drakes, I did not really have suitable armour so this was harder and more wasteful than it should have been but I quite enjoyed it. I was killed a few times when they ganged up on me but other than that I managed OK.

Later I accidentally began a hunt with blades (finding I needed to defend myself but not having any ammo on me} this hunt continued into Saturday as I was called away to complete a warp pick-up.

Saturday, The hunt with blades continued against various creatures and resulted in almost a 100% return, which was rather pleasing. I was asked for some assistance by a newish arrival one Feyn An Talitha which I gladly gave and had quite a long chat with her and assisted her with gaining  Morion Teleport.

Later I found I was unprepared for Space Skilling Saturday, having neither enough Welding Wire or healthy enough Rk-5 and RK-20 so had to make a quick trip to Arkadia. After which Space Skilling Saturday went quite well.

Sunday, Straight to Ancient Greece, Wolta and Nocturaline were already there. I found my Settlers garb no longer worked there so I was forced to run around in my underpants, it was that or wear a dress. I’m sure I had acquired some Hoplite Armour on a previous visit but was unable to locate it so I shall need to get some more, the auction had 6 parts but it was overpriced so I managed without it. Every item on the nearly 2 pages of auction had been placed by just one person, is there a market here?

I decided to try the Brontes Cyclops, quite tricky without armour but Archon’s Sword was very effective, healing was next to impossible so I only did it after I revived and was assisted in this by Nocturaline briefly. To my amazement I managed a small global, my first in Ancient Greece, and the hunt returned the first positive of the week . Later I hunted some Achelous in order to complete the Arachne’s Dilemma mission, this hunt also produced a positive. I find myself wondering if this is an Ancient Greece or a melee weapon phenomenon. I think there is only one way to find out but it will have to wait until next week.

My total return for this week was 71.75%, it was only this good due to the events in Ancient Greece.

Coasting to Racing

Log Entry for June 10th 2013

I started the week coasting, the poor returns from the previous week continued and I was unwilling to just throw PED at the mobs. I tried here and there and “not good” continued to be the theme.

As I was mostly standing around (I miss sitting), I found myself chatting to people a lot more. Nocturaline invited me to the tracks at New Switzerland for a car race, there were just three of us, the third being Nocturaline’s disciple who’s name I am ashamed to say I have forgotten. We raced around the track, I even managed to get lost and end up in the middle of the circuit somewhere, I have no idea how that happened. Needless to say I did not do well but did manage a second on the second circuit but only because the disciple overshot the exit.

Nocturaline belongs to an interesting Society “Drop Zone”, they run events which remind me of the old days in the “Guardian Tigers”, finding ways to entertain ourselves. I was kindly invited to partake in two Opalo Proteron hunts as organised by Drop Zone. The first was a steep learning curve, suddenly I had to think about what I was doing instead of just point, shoot, heal. I died many times, it did not help that I was very tired, I did begin to wake up towards the end though and became a little more proficient. I was more awake for the second hunt but still messed up a few times, it is important not to be distracted a few seconds is all it takes and you are back at the revive. I think I missed Tiger saying goodbye for the week due to how busy I was doing this, sorry Tiger.  These are a lot of entertainment for very little cost and I recommend them to anyone who gets an invite. I have also witnessed a car race in the “Calypso new arrivals” instance, at least I think that’s what it is called. This was highly entertaining, the racers had to drive from the entrance to the exit point (about 7 minutes). I flew along in “Bad Moon Rising” to see the race from above, there were way points but they were not mandatory.

Wolta spent much of the weekend skilling repair, she has been doing this a lot and is intending to reach lvl 25 VSE so she can use the RK-20. I did help her out a little with the gift of a chip, safer transport is vital. During the set up process of the 0.0 feature I found myself on Crystal Palace, I elected to try some Aurli and am very glad I did, I managed to get myself surrounded by 6 or so of the beasts (hard to tell it seemed dark in there). Survival was my goal and the Karma Killer and my Christmas tree armour set did a good job of that in addition I managed a nice HoF just as Wolta came on line so I cut the hunt short and walked away with a healthy profit.

It was on that day that I lent Cee the use of “The Desperate Dan”, my first and somewhat beaten up Sleipnir, she had not flown before and after some basic tuition found she loved it. Rather entertainingly it vanished while she was in mid-air, I can only assume that this was caused by me warping to Cyrene and leaving Calypso behind. She did survive the fall and found herself in the middle on nowhere, I would have liked to have seen that. She has since bought herself a Sleipnir.

I also learnt of the Feffoid daily crystal cave mission this week and gave that a try yesterday, this also gave me a nice return, I shall be making an effort to do that every day.

I must say, it has been an interesting week.
