A week in Space, well kind of

Log Entry for the 28th of September 2014.

Monday, my week begins aboard good old reliable Pathfinder XXXI (I do wish they would let me name it) docked at Crystal Palace. While there I decided to use the last of my PED card balance to hunt some Aurli, it’s so gratifying when I make a good decision, it happens so rarely. I used the Viceroy Armour with 5B plates attached, the Karma killer with 5 levels of damage enhancers and the A105 fitted. The hunt lasted until the A105 had expired. I got a couple of almost globals and a global of over 100 PED which included a full value Emik Enigma L1 (L), it seems the Aurli are better crafters than I am but then again who’s isn’t? The hunt returned a decent positive which is a good start to the week.

In order to have enough cash to repair my equipment after the hunt I had to TT a few stacks from storage, I ended up doing considerably more than that and managed to replenish my card to over 2K.

I returned to the ship prior to log off, I’m not sure why, maybe I’m beginning to feel at home there.

Tuesday, I had intended to visit Calypso to tier my Archon’s Sword and my Herb Box but after yesterday I decided to stick with the Aurli, I had 2 hunts, for the first I used the A105 and when it expired switched to the A104 though I only used part of the 104, for the second I finished after the A105 expired. Both returns were about 75% which is a definite improvement on last week.

Wednesday, a rest day, the one behind the screen slept and so did I.

Thursday, another run in with the Aurli, they won this round but they know I’ll be back. Later I headed out to the training ground in Pathfinder XXXI for some solo pilot/repair/gunner skilling, I did not get much of a chance here, when I tried to leave the pilot seat I found I could not and before I had a chance to re-log the ship blew, I could not face another journey to the training grounds so called it a night.

Friday, a couple of hunts against the Cosmic Horrors, the first in  Pathfinder XXXI the second in my quad, having learnt my lesson yesterday I tested leaving the pilot seat before engaging with the Horrors and on finding I could not I re-logged. The Horrors won both rounds fairly conclusively.

Saturday, still in space, I headed to the training grounds in the Pathfinder, once there I took on the Cosmic Horrors solo, as pilot I gather 5 or 6 into a tight group, hopefully draining them of skills in the process, I position the ship in such a way as just one gun will be able to get them all then switch to the gun and kill them, if I’m near enough I loot them if not it’s back to the helm to get close enough and then loot them. At any point during the process if the SI drops too low I run down to engineering to repair. The whole process is quite a slow one which is a good way to save some PED. I had purchased 100 PED of ammo for this hunt but had to top up a little at the end as I had an extra mob to take.

Once back at Crystal Palace I again visited the Aurli, this did not go very well (again).

Latter it was more Horror hunting during Space Skilling Saturday, a better result but still a win for the Horrors, on the upside I did gain an extra Hit Point bringing my total to 171.

Sunday, a Soc. team hunt with Wolta, this time against the Kreltin, Wolta is working on one of the missions so there was lots of adjusting of the Karma Killer’s damage by removing enhancers to allow a majority of the kills to be awarded to her whilst still keeping the loot fairly even. The Kreltin won this one as well!

Another week in the red, hopefully I will get one in the black sometime soon. I managed to get to over half way with the Aurli 1000 mission, I’m planning on going to Calypso tomorrow so I’m not intending on doing the next 500 any time soon but I will be back.

1 Year of drivel!

1 Year of drivel!

This is not a log entry just an observation that it was 1 year ago today I started to post here. Quite a lot has occurred in the past year, I should probably go through and pick out some highlights but I do not think I will have the time, I have made an effort to update the banner though, my look has changed dramatically!

Thanks to the few of you who do read my nonsense, I hope you continue to as I embark upon year 2.

The (not so) Great Escape.

Log Entry for July 21st 2013

The start of the week was much like the the end of the last, things were going downhill rapidly and even the drones had shallow pockets. I was beginning to think that maybe I should just avoid the bulk of the migration this year and head off world.

I had recently seen a few people around with a rather nice looking armour, I had no clue what it was but thought I would like a set if it’s any good. I think I scanned someone to discover it was the Viceroy Skullcandy edition and the stats. looked pretty good. I could find none on auction in spite of looking over several days. I searched the forums to find this very helpful link . It seems the armour was available from a string of missions on Arkadia and rather oddly once obtained could not be traded nor was it of any value to the TT. It did however have stats. very similar to (slightly better than) gremlin. I have often of late been tempted by the gremlin, a good all round armour and useful against Leviathan and Aurli. My mind was made up.  The mission involved the trading of stackables for armour parts so I took a copy of my inventory from the website and worked out what I had, what I did not have (not very much) and what I needed to transport from Calypso (quite a lot).

I knew I would not see Wolta again until Thursday evening so I e-mailed her the link. I spoke with Nocturaline and she was up for an extended stay on Arkadia. I have never been there for much longer than a weekend so a more lengthy visit with time to explore a bit more would be welcome for me. I had planned on going Tuesday evening but events prevented this so Nocturaline and I went on Wednesday instead (foolish as it turns out as Wolta would be on line the next day and we had to go back for her). Details of the trips are available in this ship’s log entry. First thing we did on the planet was have a race around the track, always fun and as is usual I lost :). I got most of the armour that night, I needed only a few veneer of various types and decided to be lazy and buy them at auction.

Thursday night and I completed my set and we returned to Calypso to pick Wolta up. Wolta soon managed to get her first part and we started to hunt for the necessary boards with which to make the veneers. We soon got the boards between us and Wolta got her complete set of Viceroy (with which she is very pleased), my loot issues continued, I was still losing but now I was not losing quite so much.

On the Saturday Nocturaline invited Wolta and myself to join her in an Arkadian Key mission, none of us had done this before and we had no clue as to what to expect. Nocturaline had bought an Arkadian key 1, after some wandering about we found the way in and spent some time running around the underground slaying the various mobs, it was ridiculously easy for the 3 of us, one of us could have done it easily and indeed the following day Nocturaline did do this solo. We all got some loot and guess what, we all lost, especially poor Nocturaline who kindly refused to take any PED to cover the costs of the key.

Afterwards Wolta and I tried a team hunt against the Riptor and the Scoria, the mobs won quite convincingly although we managed a small victory against the Nusul the following day.

During the week the latest recruit to “The Curse of Chug” one Mad Neo Force got himself a number 1 on the HoF listNeoHof, good work Neo and well deserved, lets hope there are many more.

Log Entry 27-09-12

I had a crack at the Molisk Mania event, I went to Ashi, spawned The Bad Moon Rising and headed to the event area. I unslung the P5a and began the extermination, after firing my 1k rounds plus the looted ammo I had not managed a global, the loot was about average though so things could have been worse, Molisk seem to have more teeth than they used to!

OK, it seems I have the Molisk bug. I completed a further two 1k round hunts although the second of these was cut short by the P5a expiring, the first was at Ithaca and the second at Corinth East Hangers. Ithaca was very busy, Corinth less so but Corinth did result in a profit and in completion of the Molisk 500 Iron Challenge so when finished I visited the mission broker, received the meaningless reward and accepted the 1k challenge. I needed to replace the P5a and I did so but foolishly with an Isis LR53 (L), I seem to have caught the SIB bug, I hope it’s only temporary. The Isis should provide an increase in my lasersniper (hit) skill, I seem to remember it is lagging behind a little. I returned to Corinth, flew to the spawn sight and fired just one round, I was out of ammo! After correcting this I set about the Molisk with a vengeance. I had 200PED of ammo, which is twice as much as I am used to as the Isis burns it quickly, almost twice as quickly as the P5a, strangely it does not hit the amp as heavily. It was not long before I had used it all and set about walking back to the TP sword in hand. Another profitable run but still no global for the competition, tomorrow is another day.

And as it turned out it was, I visited one of the spawns near to Minopolis and was rewarded with a 99PED global which gives me a ticket into the competition however I very much doubt that it is enough to secure the 100th place but it did get me half way through the 1k Molisk. I returned to the Daikiba and broke the 8k mark, on the home stretch now. Later the same day I took on more Daikiba and revisited the Molisk, this time at Nymphtown, loot was poor so I returned to the Minopolis spawn and things improved.

I had quite a long chat with M0niqa, my old disciple (the only one I have had under the new system) she wanted to know about mindforce so I explained this. She had got her hands on an attack chip so I talked her through getting and inserting the mind implant, after which she was off zapping stuff right left and centre.

More Daikiba, more Molisk, I swear I’m going to be dreaming of them!
