March 2018 (The noob hunting lifestyle).

Log entry for March 2018

Still intending to do less even though the cost (with the exception of SSS and the Colonists jumpsuit) is so small as to be ridiculous. I continue looking for a Disciple.

1st – Carabok, level 2, 500 killed, even sweated 5 of them after, I still don’t see the attraction. Oratan Payback Mission day 5 of 7. Herman CAP-TT R used.

2nd – Oratan Payback mission 6 of 7, nice return from that I’m not sure if they have to be done on consecutive days, no doubt I will find out in time. Jori, a slight loss but did not wipe out Oratan profit. Herman CAP-TT R.

Wolta very kindly gave me a Generic Fuse she had looted, she does that a lot so that I can make warp drives for the ship, next time we get to Calypso I should make a few.

3rd – After a very good Space Skilling Saturday I completed what I now know to be the first IFN Oratan Payback mission by doing day 7 of 7. These have proved to be very good and I would recommend them to any new inhabitant of the Entropia Universe, the payback in Universal Ammo makes it difficult to lose when doing this mission. After this I completed day 1/7 of the IFN Oratan mission II, this provides payback for killing Thugs in the form of skills, from what I can make out these do not have to be done over consecutive days. During this mission I had to wait to heal a few times as I was taking too much damage to just plough through it, I was using the Herman CAP-TT R, for the next session I will try the Herman CAP-R, which is the original TT version of this pistol, it does slightly more damage so should reduce the amount I take. During one of the periods in which I was healing I visited Nocturaline’s shop, she was busy adding more paintings having recently sold several and the images were taking their time appearing. During another healing period TigeRPaw showed up to kill some Bandits, she ran in with what must have been about 20 Oratan Prospectors of one rank or another chasing her, it looked like something out of the Benny Hill show. The Thugs are easy to find 100 of, it seems the Bandits are not, looks like mission III will be tougher.

4th – I purchase a TT Finder and Extractor along with some probes and have a crack at mining which results in a very small loss, the Arkadia TT finder is an (L) item it expired after using 4.1 PED of probes. I did not get another to continue the experiment, perhaps another day.

I placed a couple of auctions, both of which sold this day and TT’d misc stackables.

I went to the Oratan Prospector Wave area to see how this works, I was joined by one Jaco Nihilist Patrolman for about 10 waves and a couple of others joined in at various times, all were shooting the Punys, I got up to level 52 before being killed and not getting back in time to continue, in later waves one of various Oratans of higher levels shows up along with the Punys, the last two waves had Oratan Miner Young in this role. I had been killed earlier but used H-DNA, on wave 52 it involved a TP jump and I was too slow. I used the Herman CAP-TT R (L) for the Punys and some of the earlier higher Oratans but ended up using the Omegaton Igni L1100E for a couple and the Archon’s Sword for the rest when I realised how much ammo I was burning in the Igni, no armour but there was healing, just not quite enough in the last wave, I had forgotten to heal between waves and the first thing I hit was the Miner, lucky me!

Later its the Oratan Payback Mission II day 2/7 using the Herman Cap-R instead of a Herman Cap-TT R was quicker (about 1 hour and 10 minutes) and I needed to heal just twice, however it cost very close too a PED more to kill the same number of Oratan Thugs.

5th – 9th – Each day I just complete that day’s Oratan Payback Mission II, I experiment with different combinations of weapons, the cheapest seems to be using a Herman CAP-TT R (L) with a ZX Sinkadus fitted. A lose on all days except the 8th when I was using a Herman CAP-R with A ZX Sinkadus I am up 1.75 PED. On the 9th I complete the Oratan Payback Mission II and become a Corporal in the IFN, I also begin day 1/14 of the Oratan Payback Mission III, 100 Bandits a day!

10th – TigeRPaw gives me a couple of Way Points that enable me to complete day 1/14 of the Oratan Payback Mission III, left from yesterday. I complete Colonist Jumpsuit mission stage VI. I prepare to depart Arkadia, I leave my IFN uniform in the Sand Runner and store the same.

Space Skilling Saturday 216 occurs at Next Island.

After, we go to Toulan where Nocturaline and I face the Thawr Divine and overcome it with out being killed once in spite of me forgetting to attach the plates to my Ursa, numbnutz! Fortunately Nocturaline has very good healing skills and equipment. Not much loot from this, a return of just 37%. A new one spawned as soon as I killed it. I offered to split the loot with Nocturaline but this was declined.

Spent some time trying to find a location on Toulan where in the past I have done quite well, I did find it but managed another loss defending myself while I did.

11th -13th – Toulan, I wandered around an did some of the missions, including the 200 Tabtab in a day, on the last day I equipped the Ursa, this time with the 5B plates and tried my luck with the Wahesh, the first was a small global the next eight gave quite poor loot, the final one killed me and I had to return to finish it, a profit was achieved. I now have 10 of these towards the 100 daily target, I will try again on my next visit. I met a young Lady by the name of Hexadine Hex Atreides and we talked about shortblades mostly which brought back some memories of my younger days. After I headed back to Next Island so as to be ready for the next Space Skilling Saturday.

15th – 16th – Various Papoo for the Simian Problem mission, Yellow Papoo were really easy, the Grey were harder but not too difficult, both of those are complete. I have started Brown and Red, the Brown seem to be partway between the Yellow and the Grey, the Red are significantly tougher. Ekimose Desnago Born invited me to the “Ancient Greece Naked Olympic Games #1” I wonder if they will call it AGNOG? It is tomorrow (Saturday) and starts at 1630 MA, I will go if I can, it looks like it will clash with SSS.

17th – I complete the Brown Papoo part of the Simian problem.

Later I compete in the first Next Island Olympics, this consisted of three events for the eleven contestants. The first event was a race to the TP at the top of Mount Olympus, The second was a treasure hunt for Cyclops eyes in the vicinity  of Thebes Market and the third was seeing who could survive the longest in the Temple at Olympus, the results from these determined who would enter two PVP battles at Warrior Peak on NI. These were between 3rd and 4th and 1st and 2nd places, using long swords provided by the organisers. The whole thing was very well organised by David Draxar Born and Ekimose Desnago Born too whom a big thank you goes out, it all went very smoothly, very impressive for a first event. I managed to scrape Bronze by the way.

Due to running around Naked in Ancient Greece I was almost late for Space Skilling Saturday which went smoothly.

After I continued with the Red Papoo Simian problem mission but failed to finish it.

18th – Back in Ancient Greece I visit the temple at Olympia and try my sword, well mostly my sword against the Guardians and the Avatars of Despair, I started with full armour and pistol but it was no contest, I felt sorry for my opponents and reverted to Archon’s sword and no armour, I did OK too. Next I completed the Red Papoo Simian problem mission, which finished the missions and I received the reward

19th – Foolishly I returned to the Temple at Olympia, this time armed only with sword and healing devices, I survived just fine but was not financially rewarded.

20th – I was about halfway through the 5k killpoint Yellow Papoo mission and decided I should finish this, needless to say it was not much of a challenge but required some concentration and a little over 14 PED of ammo, I am still using the Herman Cap-R with a ZX Sinkadus attached to do these missions.

21st – Time to make a start on the Brown Papoo 5k killpoint mission, I manage to get to 2727 points, I know I had some to begin with but I do not remember how many, I forgot to attach the amp this time, senile old sod!

24th – It’s Space Skilling Saturday, it comes around fast nowadays.

After I continue with the Brown Papoo but get tired part way through the hunt and decide to finish tomorrow.

25th – I complete the hunt I started yesterday, this brings me to 4700 points, I should be able to finish that fairly soon, next it will be Grey Papoo.

26th – Brown Papoo 5k completed, I realise I have not really started the 1k Grey Papoo mission as I have just 10 points so that’s what I complete and manage to get 10 points into the 5k.

29th – Grey Papoo reaching 1075 points, it seems 16PED of ammo gets me a little over 1k of points and brings the ZX Sinkadus to almost completely used.

30th – Grey Papoo to 2195 points.

Then a few warp transports during which I spent sometime on Calypso picking up various items previously purchased on Auction and sorting out my inventory. I also made a new Warp Drive and placed a few stacks on Auction to try to bolster the funds in my very poor looking PED card, this succeeded better than I expected. I picked up a few items I had stored that I feel would be useful for my noob hunting lifestyle.

I picked up an old Disciple of mine (Clyde Budski Baretta), to be clear he is not a geriatric but has been a disciple for a long time, and we headed back to Next Island where training was given, mostly involving the killing of Yellow Papoo but also use of a Sleipnir. It was a long session and for the last hour I was quite confused often talking into the wrong chat and wondering why (see the 21st).

31stMore Warp transports were completed and I returned to Next Island in readiness for this evening’s Space Skilling Saturday.

After its more Grey Papoo taking the killpoint total to 3288. I also gained a new Disciple one Calsword Cals Demonbane, he was directed towards me by Jaco Nihilist Patrolman to whom I am thankful.

I created a channel for use by myself and my disciples, I will add in past disciples when I see them on line.

A busy month, I am having more fun on Next Island than I expected too which is a real bonus. I think the noob hunting lifestyle agrees with me and am enjoying what little mentoring I have done.

Not sure if writing one of these a month is working too well, it is a lot to read and most of it is dull.
