Don Crazyshadow Hunterz, outstanding behaviour

Log entry for 26th of July 2015

Monday, the week begins on Rocktropia and I’m serving the nation, the werewolves give me a slight positive as I reach 1215/10000, still got a way to go. Later I’m in the group who take down a Zombie Kong and a couple of King Kongs, the loot was dire and there was some discussion as to its distribution. On the last King Kong most of us got next to nothing but one Don Crazyshadow Hunterz managed to get a rather large ESI. He also thought the distribution off and gave 100 PED to each person in the group by way of correcting this error. Outstanding behaviour, I’m not sure there are many here who would do that.

I’ve noticed the SkullCandy gloves are ready to tier.

I did a little travelling and alighted on Next Island before heading to Ancient Greece to take on the Steropes Cyclops. I managed to kill a few by way of a test before logging.

Tuesday, I hit the Steropes in 3 separate hunts throughout the day, with each I improve as my methods are refined, I’m wearing the SkullCandy armour with 5B plates, this provides very little protection against one of their attack types so the improvements have noticeable effect. All 3 hunts gave percentage returns in the high 70s and low 80s.

Wednesday, More warping followed by more Steropes. 3 Steropes hunts the second of which provides a 564 PED Global and a smaller one, I also manage a small global during the 3rd. I finish the day at 284/333 Steropes Cyclops and calculate that 2 more hunts will see me completing the challenge.

Thursday, I was wrong, I completed the challenge + 1 more before the pills ran out (I should probably have mentioned I was using some pills to enhance my speed, heal and hit points). I changed into my chiton before visiting Penthesilea to claim the reward for completing the Bronze Age Challenge, I chose Athletics and Stamina which gave me a max health increase to 177 a stamina increase to 12 plus a couple of skill gains. After I noticed some red dots at the edge of the scope and on investigation took on and defeated the Avatar of Pan. In the other direction there was some Cyclops (Guardian of War) and a larger one in a building, I think it will need to be a team effort to take on those.

Friday, I returned to Rocktropia in readiness of tomorrow. It seems I have completely failed to make a log entry of this journey. Nothing happened so I guess I just forgot.

Saturday, Space Skilling Saturday followed by some L1119 The Things, a few Zombie Kongs and a King Kong, a lot of fun and with quite a large group but the loot was very poor.

Sunday, I return to Serving the Nation but this time the Nation does not serve me. Wolta and I team and take on a few Dragons (I cannot remember which ones, Morrison maybe) and some Motorhead Security, we manage to global on both before Wolta suffers a disconnect that is not recoverable, I receive an e-mail explaining she is experiencing a router problem.

Quite a large loss this week of 1086 PED which provided an 80% return. The Steropes was a loss of just 288 with a 91% return. I shall be returning there myself, partly because the loot is not terrible and partly because I would like to kill 333 with my Bronze Age equipment (not an easy task), after a recent VU it became possible to use anything in Ancient Greece and with the SkullCandy and the Karma Killer I feel that I have cheated somehow.

Going Underground

Log Entry for March the 30th 2014.

The week started with a Soc hunt, Wolta and myself took on some Oratan Miners and won! Only a little win but that’s as good as it normally gets.

Nocturaline told me how to create channels so I did a couple just so I have the names for the future. There was some tweaking of the chat system done by MA which resulted in a considerable improvement and the destruction of the previously created channels. I recreated them and they work better.

I deposited for the sole purpose of purchasing some Arkadia Underground deeds on day one of their availability, so far the returns seem OK but I’ll wait a week before deciding if I should invest in more.

A second Soc hunt, this one with Vinge against the Ostelok, this one resulted in a small loss but was fun, I shall hunt them again just to complete the IFN challenge.

Saturday saw a very poor hunt of various Oratan types with a 41.07% return. Talking of which the spreadsheet updates are completed making it easy for me to generate my weekly figures. I’m planning on publishing them here each week but want to plough through the ToU first, just to be on the safe side.

Space Skilling Saturday went very well and included some shenanigans with a pirate.

Nocturaline took Wolta and myself on a TP tour of Arkadia Underground, I was surprised how long this took, it’s quite a big place and has some interesting looking mobs in it.

The week ended with me going underground and taking on the Oratan miners in their own environment, surprisingly I beat them but only just and managed 3 small globals while I was at it.

Skill gains for this week are 11, still at 29 average for hunting but think I’ll improve that soon.

Every which way!

Log Entry for March the 23rd 2014

I have spent most of the week in Space, skilling where possible, some was with Wolta on the Monday evening. My feet did not touch the surface of a planet (Calypso) until Thursday night. Maybe it would have been sooner but the Gold Card lock out issue took me off line for a day. Support was very speedy when it came to re-synchronising the login sequence with my Gold Card.

The New chat system was something of a shock! I struggled for about an hour before I had to go out and that hour was very frustrating. However on my return I began to get to grips with it, it’s very flexible with many new and good features, some fundamental changes are causing me a few issues still, I’m used to main chat staying in focus until I press ESC and am struggling to break the habit, the consequences are that I start typing while the main screen has focus and various windows pop into existence, which can be inconvenient. That’s not a criticism the update is a definite improvement and I am particularly glad to see off-line messaging available. There are a few bugs known and these will no doubt be resolved soon. Nice work MA.

Hunting this week has gone well for the most part, I have had some positives and some negatives and there has been an approximate correlation between decay and loss which is what I expect to see. That’s based on a statement made by an MA representative (Marco I think) a long time ago which basically said that MA makes their money on decay. I have hunted some Drones on Calypso, Riptor, Oratan Miners and Slashers on Arkadia. I even got globals from 2 consecutive Oratan Miners on Sunday plus a smattering of others during the week.

Six assorted skill gains this week plus a Hit Point increase, I’m now at 164. Looking at the skills I’m getting quite close to new levels in many hunting skills so I expect a spate of level increases over the next few weeks.

I took possession of my new base of operations on Calypso, Lake view #1 and have managed to procure a shopkeeper to install there. I need a week or so on Calypso to move my possessions and set up the new base, a dreadfully dull task, I moved just 3 items and got bored. Maybe this week will see me moving.

Vinge has been making good progress in her discipleship which is nice to see, she is crafting away when possible and joined us for Space Skilling Saturday 10 so more of an increase there. Hopefully we will do more together soon, some kind of hunt would be good.

Been a busy week, I’m bound to have forgotten something!

Getting back into the swing

Log Entry for October the 8th 2013

With MA announcing that all was now well with the worlds I stepped up my hunting a little and have not done too badly managing a small profit form 6 hunts (don’t tell MA). However, all is not well, I have experienced several crashes and one disconnect since the announcement was made, one of the crashes was particularly inconvenient as I was part way through a Huon which had the audacity to kill me while I was off-line, when I reconnected I could not find it at least not that I know of. I have been told that Calypso is more stable and I intend to try that for a couple of days before returning to Arkadia.

The Karma Killer still has not got beyond tier 3.0, it looks as though progression has slowed down greatly now which is a shame as I am finding it to be a useful weapon with  Weapon Skill Enhancers added to the available slots.

Wolta and myself tried hunting some Kamaldon which was a little tough but we did quite well for a while, when loot dropped off we switched to Huon and did OK there too.

I have returned to Calypso for a few days, Lizzy has collected Weapon Skill Enhancer BPs 1 to 3 for me and I need to collect them and her when she next logs on (should be Friday night), she wants to explore Arkadia and I am going to try some crafting as Weapon Skill Enhancers seem rare on Arkadia I shall have to make my own. Nocturaline has returned to Calypso with me (off-line), we are both currently aboard the ship. Before leaving Arkadia I wandered around the shops looking for items to auction back on the home-world and found just one worth risking, I will see if I can turn a profit. Wolta has remained on Arkadia and we plan to continue our irregular weekly team hunt at the weekend.

I reached 159 hit points and hope to reach 161 by the end of the year, I have also set myself the target of level 60 Laser Pistoleer (hit) by year end, I think it is quite ambitious but better to aim high.
