Kicking back a bit

Log entry for the 25th of January 2015.

I spent the early part of the week resting and did not do too much in the latter part.

Thursday, I tried my luck with the Huon, in spite of 2 small globals this was a fairly dismal return but I did advance the IFN Challenge Huon Stage 3 to 593/1200 and gained a little toward the next level in Laser Pistoleer (Hit)

Friday, I purchased a Large Universal Ammo pack and made a small deposit, I am going to try to use only Universal Ammo as it gives a more accurate result when calculating the returns on a hunt. Not sure how this will work out but I’ll give it a try.
I visited the Huon again, this time with a small profit and the bonus of an Hit Point increase which brings me to 174 maximum as well as reaching 654/1200 in the stage 3 Huon challenge. After I paid a visit to the Oratan Miners, here I did rather well with a couple of globals one of which was of a decent amount, combining the profit from this and the earlier Huon hunt I have got back my losses plus a little extra from yesterday. I reached 13477/60000 in the Oratan kill point challenge, I’m not sure if I’ve already done this one once

Saturday, a team hunt with Wolta against the Riptor and a few Oweko, I spent a lot of time trying to balance the damage we were doing, the idea was to allow Wolta to gain the kills but not by too much, as we use different equipment in can take a little while to get this right and I did get the credit for a few kills. The result was a small loss but as always Sleepyhead hunts are good fun.
In the evening it was Space Skilling Saturday, fun as usual but the loot was very poor giving only a 52% return and once again I went into the red.

Sunday, I returned to the Arkadian surface and again engaged with the Oratan Miners, the return here was even worse than against the Cosmic Horrors yesterday, which was very disappointing. I did get to 16507/60000. Shortly after I completed this I was required to perform a warp transport so I ended my week on Crystal Palace.

Loss for this short week was 378PED with an 84% return.

Scouting in preparation for Saturday

Log entry for the 18th of January 2015.

Tuesday, this coming Saturday will be the 53rd Space Skilling Saturday which makes it the 1 year anniversary. I wanted to do something a little different and to this end set out in my Quad to confirm the locations of a couple of space creatures we do not normally hunt, namely Locusta and Dropships. During my journey I visited Athena Space Station, Howling Mine, Erebos Space Station and Crystal Palace where I stayed overnight. I successfully confirmed the coordinates I had were correct and while at each of the check locations I engaged with the creatures to test their strength. I thought that Locusta would be. More suitable but decided to leave it to chance with my crew each thinking of a number come Saturday.

Wednesday, I descended to the Calypso surface where I collected various auctions I had won whilst off world, these included some weapon skill modification enhancers levels 4 & 5 which I quickly fitted to the Karma Killer so that all 5 open slots contained skill enhancers. I needed to test these, I had noticed that Chug’s Hideout, for that is where I was, had an unusual number of people milling around and that there were several mobs showing on my radar that were at a fair distance from the environs indicating their size/strength. A wild stab in the dark this but I figured Longtooth! I took a small amount of ammo and headed out, my wild stab proved to be correct and I set to. I found that it took quite a long time to kill them even with an A104 fitted but I did not miss often. I killed 9 or 10 without much difficulty, I’m thinking accuracy enhancers may be better but that’s for the future. The return was disappointing but Longtooth usually are.
I spent some time putting items, mostly Mindforce chips on auction and I discovered a stash of Herb Boxes in my store, I stuffed one in Pamela, the price of these has become quite good since they are no longer available as TT items in Ancient Greece.

Thursday, I returned to Arkadia without incident, here I tried the Teladon, I did quite badly but did get to 330/1200 in the IFN stage 3 challenge.

Saturday, Space Skilling Saturday, it went quite well, I did nothing else.

Sunday, after transporting an old friend I returned to Arkadia where I tried my luck with the Oratan Miners near Steadfast, other than Space Skilling Saturday this was probably the best result of the week with just 1 small global, I did reach 10744/60000 in the IFN kill point challenge stage 6, I think I have done this before but am not sure.

This weeks hunting cost was 370PED, the return 78%.

Ancient Greece and lifting my embargo.

Log entry for the 11th of January 2015.

Monday, I began the week on Next Island where I had a go at some Portal Guardians, I had only my Hoplite armour due to the weight restrictions imposed by my mode of transport, I thought it only fair to use weaponry of a similar ilk so I kept the Karma Killer in its holster and unsheathed the Archon’s sword. I found these quite easy with the ancient equipment.

Tuesday, back in time to Ancient Greece, it’s like coming home though I was not really ready to return, those Steropes Cyclops are still too tough for me. Instead Wolta and I teamed against the Brontes Cyclops, with me only attacking until about half way before healing Wolta while she finished them with her Philosopher’s Sword. We did quite well.

Friday, I took on the Brontes solo, this time doing remarkably badly for Ancient Greece, this cancelled out Tuesday’s return. Later I tried a couple of Steropes Cyclops solo, I was resurrected several times on each occasion but did walk away with a profit before leaving Ancient Greece with slightly more gold than I arrived with. I did leave the Hoplite armour there as I have not been using it elsewhere.

The rest of the day was spent travelling, firstly back to Crystal Palace with Wolta in her Equus then after taking our equipment from storage onto Arkadia.

Saturday, I was still in space and took my Quad out to take on some Cosmic Horrors with predictable results although I do feel I’m getting better at this. After it was time for Space Skilling Saturday.

Sunday, I lifted my self imposed embargo of Arkadia as it is the new year and the duration of my exile had come to term. I took the quad via a circuitous route to avoid the lurking pirate. Once on the surface I went shopping finding some Medical Tool heal enhancers V and some Weapon Skill Modification Enhancers V, both of which I purchased.

Later I looked through the outstanding IFN challenges and found the Otorugi stage 2 to be nearest to completion requiring me to stay 100 to complete the 400 required. I took “The Bad Moon Rising” to their location, popped a skill pill and set to, one hour later I had gained some skill, lost about 150 PED, had reached 367/400 and raised the Karma Killer by 2 points to 5.6! After taking a bit if a rest I returned to finish the 400,this time without a skill pill as I knew it would not take an hour, this time I lost only 15 PED and after turning in the mission reached 56.6839 Laser Pistoleer (Hit).

The week had reached its glorious end and to my surprise I had done quite well managing an 85% return and the loss of only 260 PED. I had also purchased some more Lux luggage and a pitcher to assist me in organising way to much carried equipment as well as Weapon Modification Enhancers that would enable me to fill all the 5 slots of the Karma Killer although much of this requires collection from Calypso.

Many Kreltin just one Equus

Log entry for the 4th of January 2015.

Monday, I’m on Crystal Palace in Dome 2, I start with 540/1000 Kreltin, after today’s 2 hunts I’m at 656/1000 and lost only about 7 PED in the process. I met my first Kreltin Guardian and must admit I struggled to finish it, not a practical mob for me at the moment.

Wolta has put in a bid for an Equus Quad Wing, rather exciting that. I had considered it myself but I’m no fighter pilot.

Tuesday, just the 1 Kreltin hunt today bringing me to 712/1000 with a higher loss than I would have liked, no matter I’m edging closer to the handgun skill implant reward.

Wednesday, New Year’s Eve, 2 more Kreltin hunts, the loss on the 2nd one was very high, I think there were few people hunting as it was a little late, I ended at 830/1000. Wolta has won the auction for her Equus and between the hunts we take it for a spin around Crystal Palace, both of us were carrying our normal equipment and the poor thing hardly moved, I think the Pathfinder is quicker. We both begin to look at how we can get our equipment to under 100kg.

Thursday, New Year’s Day, I start a new diary and look at how much I have spent last year, it is scarily high, I think I may need to cut down on my time in the Entropia Universe. I manage 2 hunts today the first of which was very poor, not a good start to the year. The second was better but still quite poor, I claw my way to 942/1000, I should finish on the next hunt. I spend some time juggling equipment in an attempt to reduce my weight, I have one case with 0.8 AntiGrav so I can use that to help reduce the load but it’s hard to select what I should take.

Friday, just the 1 Kreltin hunt today, the results were very poor again, fortunately I completed the 1000 today and took as the reward the 16.09 Handgun Skill Implant, this gave me about 20% of a level in Laser Pistoleer (Hit).

Saturday, with the Kreltin mission completed I moved to Dome 1 where Wolta and I teamed to take on the Aurli, initially I used no amp on my pistol for this as the idea was to let Wolta take the kills and complete her Aurli 500, once that was done and the reward taken I fitted the A104 and tried to keep the kills even by holding fire for a few shots on every other Aurli, this mostly works except for the times when the Aurli ganged up on us. Another loss but a lot of fun, with a few cock ups which are always entertaining and 3 globals.

I took the teleporter to the surface of Calypso, I needed some supplies and to collect a few won auctions as well as placing some myself. While on the surface I was contacted by “jok star de PE LeMagniFIK” who gave me 70 PED for scoring 7 Ambulimax globals in OLA 17 about this time last year, I only vaguely remember the competition.

Later it was Space Skilling Saturday.

Sunday, Wolta and Myself lose as much weight as we can and go for a test run in her Equus, with us both under 100kg the Equus was able to power away from Crystal Palace and with that behind us Wolta engaged warp and took us to Next Island Space Station, the warp was very quick by comparison with my last warp to Next Island in the Pathfinder. Once out of warp we went to the training zone where we took on the Cosmic Horrors before heading back to the Space Station where we compared the speed of the Equus with that of my Quad, it was significantly faster. We then headed to the surface of Next Island. Where I hunted various mobs mostly using the Archon’s sword.

I managed to lose a little over 800 PED this week with a return of almost 85%.
